Headquartered in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. KUSHITANI Co., LTD. is a global manufacturer of motorcycle racing suits. The company plans, manufactures, and sells riding gear for motorcyclists, with a focus on leather products. It was founded under the original name Kushitani Shoten in 1947 by husband and wife Jinnosuke and Toshiko Kutani, along with several craftsmen, as a manufacturer and distributor of leather goods. Toshiko Kutani became the president of the company when it made the change to a joint-stock company. In 1953, the company began manufacturing and selling leather racing jumpsuits that integrated a jacket and trousers. KUSHITANI leather jumpsuits have earned a reputation among riders for safety and comfort, and are worn by top riders in Japan and overseas. Company president Toshiko Kushitani is known as "Japanese mom" by overseas riders, and KUSHITANI has grown into a global brand. It's leather jumpsuit production still makes full use of the finest leather, traditional craftmanship, and advanced technology, always maintaing "KUSHITANI QUALITY" through handcrafting by leather artisans, piece by piece. Since 2012, the company has been actively opening shops for bikers in highway parking areas in Japan. These include KUSHITANI PRO SHOP, KUSHITANI PERFORMANCE STORE, and the biker cafe KUSHITANI CAFE.
