Shingo Wakagi award winning photographer based in Tokyo, Japan.
Shingo's photography is engaged with human interest. His works comprises stories about people's feelings, experiences, lives and emotions. Shingo likes to travel and explore to broaden his perception and outlooks from people from all walks of life. His sincerity to connect to people with their deep emotion and his curiosity about life led him to move away from home at the age of 18, to study Photography in the United States at Rochester Institute of Technology.
After graduating, Shingo attended the Eddie Adams Workshop and received Life Magazine Award, Entertainment Weekly Award and Kodak Scholarship award. Shingo started traveling back and forth to New York and Tokyo to do editorial shoots. From Magazines such as The New York Times Magazine and Newsweek etc. Currently, based in Tokyo, Japan. And shoots advertising photos for big brands such as: Honda, Pocari Sweat, Timberland, Levis, Suntory, Volkswagen, Glico, Panasonic, Casio and many more. Shingo Wakagi is also an acclaimed Filmmaker and Director of Photography for Commercial Films.
His 25 years of experience in Japan's Photo Industry gives him the advantage of knowing different locations, studios and has a lot of connections with production teams. Shingo is always looking to work with international creatives and clients mainly in Tokyo and Asia but is also open to work with partners from America and Europe.
